This is a cute book filled with lots of good prose and poetry too. This is a "feel-good" book and one that can easily be read in a single sitting. A "must" for relaxation and escapism. Author, Hupp, is a multi-talented writer. No matter what she puts her hand to -- you can expect excellence. I understand there are novels in the making. Let's all watch for more publications by this very talented writer.
I loved the eclectic mix of this book. Poetry, prose and recipes, Family Recipe has it all. I can't wait to try the spaghetti sauce and I'll think of the poor lost woman while I'm cooking.
I got this book as a edition gift and promptly sent editions as gifts to my sister and brother. The three of us have a thing about circular conversations, so I loved the way these stories seem to circle back to the beginning as they end. Very satisfying -- like eating a perfect truffle -- just the right portion size, good to the very last moment it melts on your tongue. How funny to find out how a family decides to have a pet, or two, and decides how to name them. Very enjoyable.
