This one was so good, I bought the rest of the series and read them all back to back. This is a good CLEAN adventure fantasy. And when I say clean, I mean squeaky clean, just the way I like it. No vulgar language, not so much as a mild expletive. No sex or implications of same. There is a romantic element, with an occasional chaste kiss.
This series is suitable for all ages.
There are a few violent scenes, which may bother some younger readers, but they don't go into too much explicit detail.
I knocked one star off the rating only because the story got too wordy at times, making parts of it seem to drone on too long without contributing anything to the storyline. But overall, it's a great plot with very well developed characters and it's hard to put down.

Great series! I couldn't stop until I read them all!
I can't wait to read the next book
I got this item and I love it. I want more of them.awesome
Really good book, hard to put down. You won't be disappointed if you get this one.
A good read, well written if under edited tale. I received the first book for free and enjoyed it enough to buy the rest. Written. for younger readers, but pleasurable for all.
A well written book, in one of my favorite genres. I am extremely critical of books with new worlds. Do I know my way around, do I understand the make up of the kingdoms. Are they shown and picturesque as opposed to being told. Are the characters well thought out, do I care about them and what happens to them. And the answer is yes, to all of them. I was really surprised at how I could not wait to get back into the lives of Nicholas Raven and his friends. It is on the lengthy side, gets very descriptive and at times to wordy. It can move extremely slow at times, but is well worth the read, because of the excellant writing style and few surprises.
I read all three books in five days. That's how much I got involved. For those who say it's too wordy, I disagree as it allows the characters , situations and settings to live, breathe and grow. It's been a while since I've been this happily involved in a clean fantasy series with minimal violence, certainly no more than in the author's beloved Tolkien favorites. And that love for Tolkien shows through, but this world is not an immitation, but an homage, and it's very very well done. All three books must be read in order as the author states. They are all three parts of a single work. Do so, and the rewards will be hugely rewarding!
This one was so good, I bought the rest of the series and read them all back to back.
